I haven’t been able to test this truly in the wild, but as I start working on my own start up, I realized that PeerBoard is helping me preseed some content that isn’t in our wiki for both external and internal folks.
I think it will be easier to use internally than Slack or other messaging.
I am setting it up so that the same instance for our external support and developer communities is the same one used by internal only communications.
Could be risky, but the idea is that internals should know what those externally are talking about. Making them log into the same instance would help.
The search plus better categories allows this to be a less distracting Slack. We just need more granular subscriptions by category or tag or both.
Could also be nice to be able to follow specific individuals and have those included in digests or notifications.
