Hey, PeerBoard Community! We have added new important functionality that will make your and your members' experience smoother and more enjoyable.
Important: At the bottom of the page, you can find an invitation to join a meeting with the PeerBoard team to discuss the updates and ask questions.
From now on, you can:
- Edit the connected email from your profile.
- Log in with a password.
- Embed all types of media (not only YouTube and Vimeo videos).
- Embed custom code in settings.
Easily Change the Email
Previously, you had to contact our support team to have your registered email changed. To simplify the process, we have added the option to disconnect one email and add a new one instead right from the user profile. It should come in handy, especially if multiple users decide to migrate to new email domains.
Set Up a Password to Log In
Our primary login way used to be via magic links (and then social logins). Mikhail explains the thinking behind it here if you're curious. Lately, you should have noticed that a green pop-up asks you to set up a password when you access your board. Once set up, the reminder disappears, and you can start using your cool password to enter the community.
All new members are already asked to pick password on registration. Existing accounts are prompted to migrate and we plan stop supporting magic links in about three months. After that your members will still be able to request password reset if haven't by then.
Embed Any Media With iframely Support
If you hosted your videos on a platform other than YouTube and Vimeo, you wouldn't be able to embed the content into a post or a comment. We have now integrated with iframely which allows all types of rich media embeds: videos, articles, playlists, maps, GIFs, and others. All you have to do is to paste a link in the editor in a post on a new line. It also works for the comments (with two empty lines)!

Embed JS Code Into Your Board
If you wanted to embed analytics or support chat into your board, you will be happy about this one. With enabling custom code, you can integrate your favorite tools by going to Settings -> Embed Code. There you can embed code in the head and body sections of your page.
Note 1: Only script tag is supported at the moment.
Note 2: Custom code is available only on Custom Domain, WordPress and SDK hosting setups (due to security limitations of peerboard.com hosting setup).
Notable Fixes of the Month:
- Email Notifications: Based on your feedback, we have disabled sibling comments emails. You won't be receiving email notifications for each new comment to a post where you left one unless it's a reply to your comment. Later this spring we'll have the notification system and sibling comments in digests instead.
- New Post Zap Trigger Fix: If you choose to repost updates from several categories to another channel (e.g. Slack), there shouldn't be glitches with one of the category updates.
