September Updates
🎥 Preview YouTube and Vimeo Videos 🎥
Last month, we added image and GIFs previews in the feed to help you increase engagement and create eye-catching posts in your communities. Now previews are available for video files from YouTube and Vimeo, too. It will accelerate the access of the content and help members to focus on what is relevant to them.
To add a video preview, choose Video Embed from the editor controls and insert a YouTube or Vimeo link.
🌟 Engage Your Social Followers with Previews 🌟
The recent Open Graph re-implementation helps your posts stand out not only in your community but also in other social media feeds as your followers get a chance to see the media previews.
⚡ Don't Miss the News ⚡
With the new design upgrade, you can now distinguish between new and read posts in the feed as the latter will have a grayish shade. This will help you and your members stay on top of the community news and not miss the important updates.
🔒 Keep Privacy Under Control 🔒
In Access Settings and User Groups, you will find an extensive guide on how to make your forum categories exclusive to specific groups.
With multiple private categories, it wasn't an easy job to identify which posts fell under them right from the feed before we added privacy indication. You will find that posts from a private category have a corresponding title and a badge color of the category they belong to. To remember the name of the category, hover on the Private title.
✒️ Pick Your Google Fonts ✒️
Customization is what makes communities stand out. With our bottomless list of newly added Google fonts, it's easy to pick out the one that will embellish the pages of your community.
To customize the fonts, select Customization on the right panel -> Theme -> Font family and Headings font family.
☑️ Notable Bug Fixes of the Month:
- A couple of editor crash fixes.
- Restricted access page on expired session (now we redirect to login).
- For SDK/plugins we moved unsubscribe page to our domain to avoid extra logins.
- Better feed rendering on small and mobile screens.

Within the next couple of weeks, we plan on the gradual rollout of a customizable Greeting Unit and the adjustment of the Request Access flow. The first feature will benefit all communities while a better request access flow will convert visitors of private communities to members with ease.
For better indexation across the PeerBoard communities, we have revisited our SEO settings and continue working on them. As of now, newly added header and meta tags will improve the readability and optimization of your community pages.
