Thank you for the recent image previews and revised layout, they really help modernise the look and feel of Peerboard!
We have seen engagement drop to a standstill on one of the communities we decided to try out Peerboard on, we have since moved it back to our self-hosted platform (we have another 5 communities we can move to Peerboard once it matures more). The biggest constructive feedback we have received on our chats, discord and polls from our members is that there is no internal notification system so they do not know when their posts have been upvoted or responded to.
Yes there is an email notification system but to be honest we have seen nearly 70% of our members unsubscribe - many said that they did so because the emails were disruptive and filled their inbox.
We would like the option to select Thread Bump over the Karma system in the admin settings. In our experience the Karma system (especially without internal notification system) burries threads and really hurts engagement. Updates to threads or requests for additional information or clarification will not be seen unless someone manually clicks through or searches for it. This system encourages users to start new threads which leads to many short similar threads. I would longer threads that serve the community as a knowledge pool and can redirect members to these if they have questions that have already been explained or been expanded on. I would be happy to moderate (remove bumps that do not add substance to the discussion and potentially lock that thread) than run with the karma system. I understand for some newsfeed and feedback type communities this system may work great but for knowledge based communities we would benefit so much more without it.
With these two features, we will try migrating that community and then others back over to Peerboard. Thank you for all the wonderful updates!
