Hi! I have an informational website which allows visitors to browse/search information about a specific topic. I am looking to add a forum to allow people to ask and answer questions.
From my quick scan of the functionality, it seems like this is a good option if either you are happy with what seems like a completely stand alone forum/site, or if you have a relatively big budget and dev team and you can fully embed the forum into your site.
I guess I'm looking for an in-between. E.g. I'm happy for the forum to be on a different URL, but ideally I would like:
-
A custom header for the forum which can show my website logo and link to the main website.
-
Ability to drop selected forum categories and posts onto the website to act as hooks to get users to click through to the forum and interact.
-
Ability to monetise the forum. I currently earn revenue from ads on my main website. If my traffic all end up on the forum and this is where the value moves to, am I right in thinking that I can't show ads on it, therefore I would have no revenue?
Any insight on these three points would be useful!
Thanks,
Stuart
