We are happy to announce that a public version of our WordPress plugin went live this weekend! You can find it in the official WordPress.org repository. The plugin allows you to easily embed a PeerBoard instance into your website on any url and get it going within minutes.
This setup gives you complete functionality of PeerBoard, but hosted within your WordPress configuration. You can include custom headers and footers on PeerBoard pages and change the surrounding design the way you want via WordPress CMS.
The plugin also does the following:
- Correctly serves subpage navigation
- Keeps browser history for PeerBoard pages consistent
- Autoresizes the page based on PeerBoard content
- Imports user info and session for users registered through WordPress
And all of that while keeping it highly secure and private through the use of our iframe and thin open-source plugin wrapper.
Also note that you can use PeerBoard on WordPress in combination with various membership management solutions and paywalls. So for instance you can make your discussion board available only to the members who have access to private areas of your website. This happens with no extra effort just by making the main page you use for PeerBoard protected.
